BUENOS AIRES (Interstat) — Two sides mired in the lower half of the Primera B Metropolitana table will seek a rare victory when Deportivo Merlo hosts Sacachispas on Saturday.

The matchup at Estadio José Manuel Moreno features two clubs with identical draws (21) but divergent fortunes in the win column. Sacachispas (12-12-21) enters with a three-win advantage over Deportivo Merlo (9-18-21) in the Argentina third-tier league standings.

Sacachispas arrives with momentum, coming off a 1-0 victory over Dock Sud on Monday. The visitors have also won two of their last three league matches.

Deportivo Merlo, meanwhile, is winless in its last five outings across all competitions, with its most recent result a 1-1 draw against Dock Sud on Oct. 18. The home side has struggled to find the net, scoring just four goals during that winless streak.

The most recent head-to-head meeting favors Sacachispas, which earned a 2-0 victory over Deportivo Merlo on June 16.

According to the Interstat game simulator, the contest is projected to end in a 1-1 draw, a result that would align with both teams’ propensity for deadlocks this season.

Following this match, Deportivo Merlo is scheduled to face CSyD San Martín on Nov. 15.
