TIANJIN, China (Interstat) — Shanghai Shenhua opened its Chinese Super League campaign with a 3-1 victory over Tianjin Jinmen Hu FC on Saturday at Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium.

Substitutes powered the visitors’ attack, with Luismi, André Luis and Wu Xi each scoring a goal. Luismi opened the scoring in the 12th minute, and André Luis doubled the lead in the 77th. Tianjin’s Li Sirong scored a late consolation goal in the 90th minute before Wu Xi immediately answered to seal the win. The result defied a pregame projection from Interstat that forecast a 1-1 draw, though its system heavily favored Shenhua. The win gives Shanghai a perfect start to the season.
