MEIZHOU, China (Interstat) — Meizhou Hakka and visiting Dalian Yingbo FC played to a 2-2 draw in the Chinese Super League on Saturday at Huitang Stadium. The result defied pregame projections that favored Meizhou.

Substitutes made the difference, with Meizhou’s Yang Mingrui opening the scoring in the 18th minute. Dalian’s Bi Jinhao, also a substitute, leveled the match before halftime. Meizhou’s Elías Már Ómarsson put the hosts ahead again in the 64th, but Dalian’s Mamadou Traoré secured the draw with an 86th-minute equalizer. Both teams remain winless in CSL play.
