RFC Liège vs Sporting Charleroi

LIÈGE, Belgium (Interstat) — RFC Liège will look to continue its perfect start to the Belgian Cup when it hosts a struggling Sporting Charleroi side on Tuesday.

Liège enters the second-round matchup with a 1-0 record in the competition following a 5-1 rout of Gullegem on Sept. 7. Across all competitions, the club is unbeaten with a record of 1-0-2.

Charleroi, a First Division A side, begins its cup campaign after a morale-boosting 1-0 league victory over Anderlecht on Friday. That result snapped a three-game losing streak, but the club’s overall form remains poor with a record of 3-5-4 across all competitions this season.

The visitors will aim to build on the momentum from the Anderlecht win, which was just their second victory in their last nine matches. Liège, however, will be well-rested and carries significant offensive confidence from its last outing.

According to the Interstat game simulator, Liège is projected to secure a 3-0 victory and advance to the next round.

Charleroi will then turn its focus back to league play, visiting Standard Liege on Friday.
