DÜSSELDORF, Germany (Interstat) — Klara Bühl’s 79th-minute goal lifted Germany’s women’s national team to a 1-0 victory over France in a UEFA Women’s Nations League match Friday at Merkur Spielarena. Midfielder Elisa Senß provided the assist on the game’s only score. The match was a defensive struggle, a stark contrast to the teams’ high-scoring encounter in July. Both sides finished the match with 1-0 records in the Nations League. The result was an upset, as statistical models had favored France to win.
