AL-’AYN, United Arab Emirates (Interstat) — Al Ain FC and Al Jazira SCC played to a 1-1 draw in an Arabian Gulf League match Saturday at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium. Matías Palacios opened the scoring for the home side in the 20th minute, but Al Jazira substitute Bruno Oliveira leveled the match with a goal in the 36th minute. Al Jazira defender Ramy Rabia, who assisted on the equalizer, received a yellow card late in the first half. The result defied pregame projections that heavily favored Al Ain to secure a victory. Both clubs move to 0-0-1 records in the league competition following the stalemate.
