CARACAS, Venezuela (Interstat) — Zamora defeated first-place Dep La Guaita 2-0 on Tuesday in a Venezuelan Primera División match at Estadio Rafael Agustín Tovar. Sergio Sulbarán opened the scoring in the 45th minute and Isai Valladares sealed the victory in the 83rd. The loss for Dep La Guaita, which finished with 10 men after a 90th-minute red card to Yordan Osorio, is just its sixth of the league season. The result defied a pregame projection from Interstat that had favored a 1-1 draw. Dep La Guaita remains atop the standings despite the defeat.
