CARACAS, Venezuela (Interstat) — Caracas defeated rival Metropolitanos 3-2 on Sunday in a frenetic Venezuelan Primera División match at Estadio Olímpico. The visitors secured the win despite a wild start that saw three goals in the opening six minutes.

Substitutes Michael Covea and Jeriel Córdova, along with midfielder Jeizon Ramírez, scored for Caracas. Metropolitanos’ goals came from Ángel Figueroa and Javier Gimenez. The result gave Caracas a winning start to its league campaign, while Metropolitanos began with a loss. The final score defied a pregame projection that had favored a 1-1 draw.
