PUERTO CABELLO, Venezuela (Interstat) — Puerto Cabello opened its Primera División season with a commanding 3-0 victory over Zamora on Saturday at Complejo Deportivo Socialista. Harrison Contreras broke a scoreless deadlock with a goal in the 39th minute, and Edwuin Pernía sealed the win with a second goal in the 83rd minute. The lopsided result defied a pregame projection from Interstat that favored a 1-1 draw. The match was a physical affair, featuring seven yellow cards. With the win, Puerto Cabello starts its domestic campaign with a victory while Zamora begins with a loss.
