MATURIN, Venezuela (Interstat) — Anthony Uribe came off the bench to score the game’s only goal in the 81st minute, giving Deportivo La Guaira a 1-0 victory over Monagas on Saturday in a Venezuelan Primera División match at Estadio Monumental. The decisive play was created by substitute Rommell Ibarra, who was one of five different Dep La Guaita players credited with an assist on Uribe’s late winner. The result was an upset, as statistical models heavily favored the home side. The match was a physical affair, with six yellow cards issued by the official. Both teams opened their league campaigns with the result.
