VALENCIA, Venezuela (Interstat) — Miguel Pernía’s second-half goal lifted Carabobo to a 1-0 victory over rival Metropolitanos in a Primera División match on Wednesday. Pernía broke the deadlock in the 48th minute at Estadio Polideportivo Misael Delgado, securing the win for the home side. The result defied a Interstat projection that forecast a 1-1 draw. Goalkeeper Lucas Bruera anchored the clean sheet for Carabobo, which was heavily favored with an 88.1% win probability. Both teams opened their league campaigns with the result.
