TOKYO (Interstat) — FC Tōkyō defeated Fagiano Okayama 3-1 on Saturday in a J1 League match at Ajinomoto Stadium. Forward Kein Satō led the home side with a dominant performance, scoring twice. Substitute Ataru Esaka also found the net for FC Tōkyō. Fagiano Okayama’s lone goal came from midfielder Kōta Tawaratsumida late in the match. The result defied the pregame projection from Interstat, which gave FC Tōkyō a 61 percent chance to win but had simulated a 1-1 draw. The match was the season opener for both clubs in Japan’s top-flight league.
