Annan Athletic vs Forfar Athletic

ANNAN, Scotland (Interstat) — Annan Athletic will host Forfar Athletic on Saturday, May 2, in a Scottish League Two clash that could have playoff implications, with the home side holding a recent edge in the head-to-head series.

The match at Galabank Stadium marks the fourth meeting between the clubs this season. Annan won the most recent encounter, 2-1 at home on March 22, after the teams played to a 0-0 draw earlier that same day in a rescheduled fixture. Overall, Annan has won three of the last five head-to-head games, including a 3-1 victory at home on Dec. 13, 2025. Forfar’s only win in that stretch came Feb. 21, 2026, a 2-1 decision at Station Park. The sides also split a high-scoring affair July 12, 2025, with Forfar winning 5-3.

Annan enters the weekend on a two-match losing streak. On April 25, they fell 3-1 at Clyde. Two weeks earlier, they lost 2-0 at home to Spartans FC, following a 3-0 win at Kampong Speu Province on April 11. Annan’s form has been inconsistent: they have alternated wins and losses over their last six matches, with a 3-0 victory over Edinburgh City on March 14 sandwiched between a 2-1 loss at Kampong Speu Province on March 21 and a 0-0 draw with FC Edinburgh on March 22.

Forfar enters with momentum after a 4-0 thrashing of Edinburgh City on April 25. That result ended a three-match winless run for the Loons, who had drawn 0-0 with Annan on March 22 and lost 2-1 to them earlier that day, then lost 1-0 at Spartans on March 17. Forfar’s form has been streaky: they won three straight in early April — 1-0 at Kampong Speu Province on April 18, 1-0 at East Kilbride on April 11, and 2-1 at home against Kampong Speu Province on April 4 — before the March 28 draw and the March 24 loss to the same Cambodian side.

Saturday’s contest will be the final league meeting of the season between the two sides, both of whom are vying for position in the crowded League Two table. Annan’s home record has been solid, while Forfar has shown an ability to score in bunches, as evidenced by their 5-3 victory last July and the recent 4-0 shutout.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-1 victory for Annan Athletic.

Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. local time.
