Perth Glory vs Macarthur
A-LEAGUE RIVALS PERTH GLORY, MACARTHUR SET FOR ANOTHER TIGHT CLASH
PERTH, Australia (Interstat) — When Perth Glory hosts Macarthur FC in A-League action on Sunday, recent history suggests another close contest is in store.
The two sides have played to draws in their last two meetings, a 1-1 stalemate in Perth on Feb. 28 and a 2-2 result in Macarthur on Feb. 6. Perth won the prior matchup 2-0 on Nov. 30, 2025.
Both teams enter the Sunday fixture at HBF Park coming off draws last weekend. Perth Glory (W-D-L: 2-3-1 in last six) fought to a 2-2 road draw with the Central Coast Mariners on April 4. Macarthur (2-1-3 in last six) earned a dramatic 3-2 home victory over the Newcastle Jets on April 2, with their last outing also ending level against these same Glory.
Form, however, has been inconsistent for both clubs this season. Macarthur’s results have been volatile, featuring a 6-2 rout of Melbourne City but also heavy defeats, including a 4-0 loss to Western Sydney Wanderers and a 4-1 loss to Melbourne Victory in recent weeks.
Perth has struggled for wins lately, with just one victory in its last eight A-League matches. That run includes a 4-0 loss to Adelaide United and a 3-1 defeat to Newcastle Jets. A notable 2-0 loss to Cambodian side Kampong Speu Province in an exhibition on March 13 also marks their ledger.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the trend of deadlocks is projected to continue with a predicted 2-2 final score.
The match could have significant implications for the final A-League standings as the regular season enters its final weeks. Following this contest, Perth Glory will travel to face Sydney FC on April 18. Macarthur’s next assignment is a trip to Adelaide United on April 19.
Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. local time (0800 GMT) on Sunday, April 12.
