Melbourne City Dominates Western Sydney in A-League Match

MELBOURNE, Australia (Interstat) — Melbourne City delivered a commanding 3-0 victory over Western Sydney W in A-League play Saturday at AAMI Park.

The home side controlled the match with goals from Andreas Kuen in the 23rd minute, Marcus Younis in the 33rd and Elbasan Rashani in the 49th. Younis, who also had an assist, was later sent off with a red card in the 67th minute after receiving an earlier yellow.

The result defied pregame projections that heavily favored Western Sydney. The visitors failed to score and have now won just once in their last eight matches across all competitions. Melbourne City’s comprehensive win improves its standing in the league table.
