GOSFORD, Australia (Interstat) — The Central Coast Mariners and Perth Glory played to a 2-2 draw in an A-League match Saturday at Polytec Stadium.

Perth substitute Sebastian Despotovski opened the scoring in the 14th minute, but Mariners forward Ali Auglah equalized in the 37th. Glory substitute Adam Taggart put the visitors ahead again in the 66th, only for Mariners’ Bailey Brandtman to level the score three minutes later. Both teams remain unbeaten with one draw to start their A-League campaigns.

The result defied pregame projections that heavily favored the Mariners to win. The match featured yellow cards for Perth’s Giovanni De Abreu and Central Coast’s Chris Donnell.
