BRUGGE, Belgium (Dec. 21, 2025) (Interstat) — Club Brugge secured a 2-1 victory over Gent in a Belgian First Division A match Sunday at Jan Breydelstadion. The home side’s Nicolò Tresoldi scored the decisive goal in the 86th minute.

Romeo Vermant opened the scoring for Club Brugge in the 21st minute. Gent’s Maksim Paskotši, a substitute, leveled the match in the 52nd minute. Tresoldi’s late strike secured the three points for Brugge. Substitutes Franck Surdez and Tiago Araújo provided assists for their respective teams.

The result defied a pre-match projection from Interstat’s game simulator, which had forecast a 2-2 draw. The firm’s ELO system, however, had given Club Brugge a 91.70 percent probability to win. Gent’s Tiago Araújo and Brugge’s Franck Surdez received late yellow cards.
