Queen of the South vs Stenhousemuir
DUMFRIES, Scotland (Interstat) — A pivotal Scottish League One clash is set for Palmerston Park on Saturday as Queen of the South hosts Stenhousemuir, with both sides looking to build momentum in a tightly contested season.
The visiting Warriors (5-2-3) enter the match sitting higher in the table than the Doonhamers (4-4-1), but recent form suggests a closely fought contest. Stenhousemuir is unbeaten in its last four league matches but is coming off a scoreless draw with Alloa Athletic last Saturday. Queen of the South, meanwhile, is riding high after a 3-0 victory over Elgin City in its last outing on Oct. 5.
The two sides played to a 0-0 stalemate in their previous meeting on Aug. 23. Stenhousemuir holds the edge in the overall season record across all competitions (9-5-3), compared to Queen of the South’s .500 record (8-8-1).
According to the Interstat game simulator, Queen of the South is projected to earn a 2-1 home victory. The result could see the Doonhamers close the gap in the standings.
Following this match, Queen of the South will host East Fife on Nov. 8. Stenhousemuir’s next fixture is a home game against Kelty Hearts, also on Nov. 8.
