BOLOGNA, Italy (Interstat) — Bologna opened its Serie A season with a 2-0 victory over Napoli on Sunday at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara. The home side defied a pregame projection that favored a draw, keeping a clean sheet against the visitors.

Forward Thijs Dallinga broke the stalemate in the 50th minute. Defender Jhon Lucumí doubled the lead in the 66th, with both goals assisted by substitutes. The result gives Bologna a winning start to the campaign, while Napoli begins with a loss.
