STOCKHOLM (Interstat) — Mallbackens IF will look to build on its winning start to the season when it hosts Alingsas IF in a Svenska Cupen Women group stage match on Saturday.

The matchup at Strömvallen stadium pits a Mallbackens side with early momentum against an Alingsas team still seeking its first competitive action of the 2025 campaign.

Mallbackens opened its cup schedule with a victory and carries a 1-0 record across all competitions into the contest, fresh off a 2-1 win over IK Sturehov on Aug. 12. Alingsas has yet to play a competitive match this season, holding an 0-0 record in both the cup and all competitions.

Despite the disparity in recent form, a statistical projection from Interstat forecasts a narrow 1-0 victory for the visiting side. The simulation suggests Alingsas could overcome its lack of match practice to secure an upset on the road.

The Svenska Cupen Women features clubs from Sweden’s top divisions and serves as the country’s primary women’s football knockout tournament. Saturday’s match will be the first meeting between the two sides in the current cup cycle.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. local time in Forsbacka.
