Simba vs Singida Black Stars

DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania (Interstat) — Simba will host Singida Black Stars on Wednesday, May 20, in a Ligi kuu Bara matchup that could tighten the race for the top of the Tanzanian table.

Simba enters the game at home after a 3-0 win at Mashujaa FC on May 14. The victory extended the club’s unbeaten run to six matches across all competitions. Forward Seleman Mwalimu, who came off the bench in the 90th minute and scored that day, is a player to watch. Mwalimu has been productive in limited minutes and could see increased action Wednesday.

Singida Black Stars arrive on a two-game winning streak, including a 1-0 victory at Namungo on May 12. The visitors have won four of their last five matches overall, with the only loss coming against Simba on March 11. In that head-to-head meeting, Simba won 2-1 at Singida Black Stars.

The most recent 10 games for each side show strong form. Simba has six wins, three draws and one loss in that span, with the lone defeat coming against Young Africans SC on May 3. Singida Black Stars have seven wins, one draw and two losses, including a 2-1 loss to Azam FC on April 1.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw Wednesday. Both teams have shown ability to score and defend well. Simba have kept clean sheets in five of their last eight matches. Singida Black Stars have allowed just two goals in their past five games, both in a 2-1 loss to Coastal Union on May 2.

The match marks the second of three consecutive away fixtures for Singida Black Stars. They play at Singida Fountain Gate FC on Saturday, then return home to face Tanzania Prisons on June 24. For Simba, Wednesday’s game is the first of a two-match homestand before a road trip to Coastal Union on May 21.

Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. local time at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
