Simba travels to face Mtibwa Sugar on Thursday in a Ligi kuu Bara matchup, with the visiting side riding a 10-game unbeaten streak across all competitions.

Simba (8-0-2 in their last 10 league matches) have not lost since a 1-1 draw at Mtibwa Sugar on Jan. 18. Since then, they have posted six wins and four draws, including a 4-0 rout of Tanzania Prisons on Sunday. The dominant run includes shutout victories over JKT Tanzania (1-0), Singida Fountain Gate FC (3-0) and Coastal Union (2-0). Their only blemish in that stretch was a 2-2 deadlock with Young Africans SC on May 3.

Mtibwa Sugar enters on a downward trend. They lost 4-0 at Singida Black Stars on Saturday, their third consecutive defeat. Over their last 10 league games, Mtibwa Sugar (2-3-5) have managed just two wins, both by single-goal margins, while being outscored 18-9. They have not kept a clean sheet since a 0-0 draw with JKT Tanzania on March 25, and have conceded three or more goals in four of their past six matches.

The most recent meeting between the sides ended 1-1 on Jan. 18 at Mtibwa Sugar’s home ground. Simba has not lost to Mtibwa Sugar in their past four encounters, dating to April 2024.
