Modena vs Venezia

Preview: Modena Hosts Venezia in Serie B Clash

MODENA, Italy (Interstat) — Modena and Venezia will meet in a Serie B match on Saturday, with both sides looking to build on clean-sheet victories from the previous weekend.

The game at the Stadio Alberto Braglia is scheduled for a 2 p.m. local (1300 GMT) kickoff.

Modena (6-5-4) enters the contest after a convincing 2-0 road win at Spezia on Dec. 13. That result halted a brief skid for the Canarini, who had lost their two prior matches against Catanzaro and Cesena. Their form at home has been mixed this season, with three wins, three draws and two losses.

Venezia (8-3-4) arrives in strong spirits following a 2-0 home victory over Monza, also on Dec. 13. That win extended the Lagunari’s unbeaten run in the league to four matches (3-0-1). Their recent surge has been fueled by a stout defense, conceding just once during that stretch. However, their away record shows two wins, four draws and two losses.

A statistical projection from Interstat forecasts a 1-1 draw for Saturday’s fixture.

Historically, Venezia has found success in Modena, winning on its last two visits to the Braglia. The overall series between the clubs is closely contested.

Modena will look to forwards Antonio Palumbo and Luca Magnino, who combined for the goals against Spezia, to continue their partnership. Venezia’s attack is led by experienced striker Francesco Forte, who has been pivotal in their climb up the table.

The midfield battle will be key, with Modena’s Thomas Battistella tasked with disrupting Venezia’s rhythm, orchestrated by the likes of Tanner Tessmann.

Following this match, Modena will have a short turnaround, hosting Monza on Friday, Dec. 26. Venezia returns home to face Virtus Entella on Saturday, Dec. 27.

Saturday’s match is pivotal for the promotion picture, with Venezia currently positioned for a playoff spot and Modena aiming to close the gap.
