OSLO, Norway (Interstat) — Valerenga earned a 2-1 victory over Stromsgodset in Eliteserien play on Sunday at Intility Arena, securing the win with a stoppage-time goal. Substitute Jesper Tåje opened the scoring for the hosts in the 29th minute. Stromsgodset’s Elias Hagen equalized in the first minute of added time, but Valerenga’s Aaron Olsen netted the decisive goal six minutes later. Tåje, who also recorded an assist, was booked in the 41st minute. The result defied a pregame projection that heavily favored Valerenga to win. Both clubs opened their league seasons with this match.
