Shelbourne, St Patrick’s Ath Battle to Scoreless Draw in League Opener
DUBLIN (Interstat) — Shelbourne FC and St Patrick’s Athletic played to a 0-0 draw in the League of Ireland Premier Division on Saturday at Tolka Park.
The match, which featured four yellow cards but no goals, failed to live up to pregame projections. Interstat’s ELO system had given Shelbourne a 91.2 percent probability to win, while its simulator had predicted a 1-1 result. Defenders James Norris and Milan Mbeng were among the players shown yellow cards in a physical contest.
With the result, both Dublin clubs begin their league campaigns with a draw and an identical 0-0-1 record. Their overall records across all competitions also stand at 0-0-1.
