Fulham, West Ham Set for London Derby in Premier League Clash

LONDON (Interstat) — West Ham United will look to avenge a recent defeat and halt a slide in form when it visits crosstown rival Fulham FC in a Premier League matchup on Wednesday.

The game at Craven Cottage is a quick turnaround for both London clubs. Fulham (12-7-9) enters with momentum after a 2-1 home victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. West Ham (10-9-9), meanwhile, is reeling from a 5-2 road thrashing by Liverpool on Saturday.

The head-to-head history favors the hosts. In their last meeting on Dec. 27, Fulham secured a 1-0 win at West Ham’s London Stadium. That result is part of a mixed recent run for the Hammers, who followed a sturdy 3-1 win over Sunderland on Jan. 24 with a disappointing 3-2 home loss to Chelsea just a week later.

Fulham’s form has been inconsistent but punctuated by notable highs. Before the Tottenham win, they routed Sunderland 3-1 but were soundly beaten 3-0 by Manchester City. Their season includes impressive results like a 2-2 draw with Liverpool and a 2-1 win over Chelsea in early January.

West Ham manager David Moyes will demand a response after the defensive collapse at Anfield. Prior to that, his squad had shown resilience, grinding out a 0-0 draw with Bournemouth and a 1-1 draw with Manchester United in league play. The team’s focus will be on shoring up a backline that conceded five goals in its last outing.

Fulham, under manager Marco Silva, will rely on home-field advantage and the confidence from their last derby win against this opponent. Their attack, which produced three goals against Sunderland, will test West Ham’s shaken defense.

The Interstat game simulator projects a 1-1 draw, suggesting a tightly contested affair. The result could significantly impact the mid-table landscape as the season enters its final months.

For West Ham, the schedule does not ease up, with a home match against Manchester City looming on March 14. Fulham travels to face Nottingham Forest on March 15.

Kickoff is set for 7:45 p.m. local time at Craven Cottage.
