LONDON (Interstat) — Chelsea Women and FC Barcelona played to a 1-1 draw in a UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage match Thursday at Stamford Bridge. Defender Ellie Carpenter opened the scoring for the hosts in the 16th minute. Barcelona substitute Ewa Pajor leveled the match with a goal in the 24th minute. The result defied pregame projections from Interstat, which heavily favored a Chelsea victory and a higher-scoring affair. Both clubs begin their European campaigns with a draw.
