Bosnia-Herzegovina vs Romania

SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina (Interstat) — An in-form Romania squad will look to continue its perfect start to World Cup qualifying when it visits a still-seeking-first-win Bosnia-Herzegovina on Saturday.

The Group A matchup at Bilino Polje Stadium pits a Romanian side riding a wave of momentum against a Bosnian team searching for its identity. Romania (1-0-0, 3 points) sits atop the early group standings following a 1-0 victory over Austria on Oct. 12. That result extended its winning streak to three matches across all competitions, having also defeated Cyprus 2-0 in June.

Bosnia-Herzegovina (0-0-1, 1 point), meanwhile, is coming off a 2-2 draw with Cyprus last month, a result that followed a 1-1 draw with Northern Ireland in June. The Dragons have yet to secure a victory this season in any competition, making a strong performance at home imperative.

The visitors will be confident, buoyed by their defensive solidity and recent results. According to Interstat’s game simulator, Romania is projected to extend its run with a 2-1 victory.

Romania will be looking to bank another three points before hosting last-place San Marino on Nov. 18. Bosnia-Herzegovina faces a quick turnaround with a difficult trip to face Austria on the same date.
