LEATHERHEAD, England (Interstat) — An unbeaten start in the FA Trophy will be on the line Saturday when Leatherhead hosts Canvey Island in a third-round qualifying match.

The fixture, set for Fetcham Grove on Oct. 25, pits two teams with perfect, though imbalanced, records in the competition. Leatherhead enters with momentum, boasting a 3-0-0 record in the Trophy and a 4-2-1 mark across all competitions. They are riding high after a 4-1 rout of Ramsgate in their last outing on Oct. 4.

Canvey Island, by contrast, is 1-0-0 in the Trophy but holds an even 1-1-0 record overall. They rebounded from a 2-0 loss to Maldon & Tiptree on Aug. 30 with a 2-0 victory over Whitehawk on Oct. 4.

Despite Leatherhead’s stronger form, the Interstat game simulator projects a tight contest, forecasting a 1-1 draw that would force a replay. The home side will look to leverage its potent attack, while Canvey Island aims to continue its defensive solidity from its last match.

The winner will advance to the first round proper of England’s prestigious national knockout competition for non-league clubs.
