Alvechurch vs Worcester City

WORCESTER, England (Interstat) — Two sides seeking their first FA Trophy win of the season will meet Saturday when Alvechurch hosts Worcester City in a first-round qualifying match.

The fixture at Lye Meadow pits an unbeaten Alvechurch side against a Worcester City team still looking for its first victory across all competitions this season.

Alvechurch (0-0-0 FA Trophy) enters the contest with one win and one draw in its early season campaign. It is coming off a 0-0 draw with Basford United FC on Oct. 4. Its season opened with a 4-2 victory over Barwell on Aug. 30.

Worcester City (0-0-1 FA Trophy) has drawn both of its matches to date, playing to a 2-2 stalemate with Rugby Town on Oct. 3 and a 1-1 draw with Chasetown on Aug. 30.

According to the Interstat game simulator, the match is projected to end in a 1-1 draw, which would see both teams remain without a loss but also without a win in this competition.

The FA Trophy is England’s major cup competition for clubs in the non-league system, spanning from the fifth to eighth tiers of the English football pyramid.
