PRESCOT, England (Interstat) — Prescot Cables will look to build on their winning start to the FA Trophy campaign when they host Guiseley AFC in a preliminary round match on Saturday.

The Cables (1-0-0 FA Trophy) advanced with a 2-0 home victory over Lancaster City on Oct. 7, their most recent competitive fixture. That result improved their overall record across all competitions to 1-1-1 this season, which also includes a 1-0 loss and a 2-2 draw against Hyde Utd.

Guiseley AFC (0-0-0 FA Trophy) enters the competition with no recorded results for the current season, making their form an unknown variable for the matchup at Hope Street.

Despite the disparity in recent competitive action, the Interstat game simulator projects a narrow 1-0 victory for the visiting Lions.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. local time. The FA Trophy is England’s major knockout competition for clubs in the non-league football pyramid.
