Clitheroe Topples Stockton Town in High-Scoring FA Trophy Clash
CLITHEROE, England (Interstat) — Clitheroe defeated Stockton Town 4-2 in an FA Trophy match on Saturday at The Loom Loft Stadium, overcoming an early deficit. Stockton Town’s Josh Scott opened the scoring in the 14th minute, but the home side responded with three first-half goals. Jamie Bramwell equalized in the 28th and Luke Gill put Clitheroe ahead just before halftime in stoppage time. The victory defied a pregame projection from Interstat, whose simulator had forecast a 2-1 win for Stockton Town. Its ELO system had given Clitheroe a 70.6% chance to win. Both teams were playing their first match in the competition this season.
