DEBRECEN, Hungary (Interstat) — Debrecen opened its NB I season with a commanding 5-2 victory over Ujpest II on Sunday at Nagyerdei Stadion. The home side overwhelmed its opponent, scoring three first-half goals. Forward Donát Bárány led the charge with two early goals, while Amos Youga, Flórián Cibla and Dominik Kocsis also found the net. Substitute Tom Lacoux added a late goal and an assist. The result defied a pregame projection from Interstat, which had simulated a 2-2 draw despite giving Debrecen a 97.5 percent probability to win. Both clubs opened their league campaigns.
