Telstar vs Heracles
TELSTAR VS. HERACLES PREVIEW
AMSTERDAM (Interstat) — Telstar hosts Heracles on Sunday, May 10, in an Eredivisie matchup that pits two clubs heading in opposite directions. Kickoff is at the 711 Stadium in Velsen-Zuid.
Telstar enters the contest riding a wave of momentum after a 1-1 draw at NEC on May 2. The result extended the White Lions’ unbeaten run to three matches in league play, following a 4-1 thrashing of Jong Sparta on April 22 and a 3-1 upset of PSV on March 22. However, Telstar has been inconsistent this season, with losses to Utrecht (4-1 on April 11), Groningen (2-0 on April 4) and Heerenveen (3-0 on March 14) dampening an otherwise promising spring. Despite those setbacks, Telstar has shown an ability to score, netting three or more goals in four of its past eight outings.
Heracles arrives in poor form, having lost its last five matches. The most recent defeat came Sunday, a 1-0 loss at PEC Zwolle on May 3. That result extended a slide that includes a 2-0 home loss to Volendam, a 4-1 drubbing at PSV, a 3-0 blanking by Ajax and a 4-1 loss at Heerenveen. Heracles has managed just one goal in its past five matches while conceding 14. The team’s only bright spot in recent weeks came March 20, a 1-1 draw with Excelsior. Heracles has not won since Feb. 28, when it beat PSV 3-1 at home.
In the most recent head-to-head meeting, Telstar and Heracles played to a 1-1 draw on Dec. 6, 2025, at Telstar’s ground. That result continued a trend of tight contests between the sides.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-1 victory for Telstar, a forecast that aligns with the home side’s recent uptick and Heracles’ struggles.
Following Sunday’s match, Heracles returns home to face Groningen on May 17, while Telstar travels to Volendam the same day.
Heracles will need to reverse a season-long trend of defensive fragility — it has conceded four or more goals in five separate matches — to have any chance of containing a Telstar attack that has found its rhythm. Telstar, meanwhile, will aim to capitalize on Heracles’ slide and climb further up the Eredivisie standings.
Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. local time.
