BREDA, Netherlands (Interstat) — Utrecht and NAC Breda opened their Eredivisie seasons with a 1-1 draw Sunday at Rat Verlegh Stadion.

The match featured two early goals. NAC Breda midfielder Raul Paula opened the scoring in the 20th minute, assisted by defender Denis Odoi. Utrecht substitute Dani de Wit responded just six minutes later, netting the equalizer in the 26th minute off a helper from defender Clint Leemans. De Wit also assisted on Paula’s goal.

The result defied pre-match projections that heavily favored Utrecht. The match was a physical affair, producing four yellow cards, including one for De Wit. Both teams remain unbeaten with identical records across all competitions this season.
