BRAGA, Portugal (Jan. 22, 2026) (Interstat) — SC Braga opened its Europa League campaign with a 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest on Thursday at Estádio Municipal de Braga.

The match’s lone goal came in the 54th minute when Ryan Yates scored for the hosts. The play was assisted by substitute Neco Williams, who entered the match later. The result defied a pre-match projection from Interstat, which gave Braga a 73.9% probability to win but simulated a 1-1 draw.

The contest was a physical affair, featuring seven yellow cards. Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson received a red card in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time. Braga begins group play with a win, while Nottingham Forest starts with a loss.
