NICE, France (Jan. 22, 2026) (Interstat) — Nice opened its Europa League campaign with a 3-1 victory over Go Ahead Eagles on Thursday at Allianz Riviera. The hosts overcame an early deficit after Charles Vanhoutte put the Dutch side ahead in the 10th minute. Nice midfielder Tiago Gouveia equalized in the 41st and netted the decisive goal in the 59th. Substitute Finn Stokkers added an insurance goal in the 68th, assisted by fellow sub Calvin Twigt. The result defied a pre-match projection of a 1-1 draw, as Nice validated its status as a heavy favorite. The match featured six yellow cards, including two in a 52nd-minute incident involving Vanhoutte and Nice’s Dean James.
