MALMÖ, Sweden (Jan. 22, 2026) (Interstat) — FK Crvena zvezda earned a 1-0 road victory over Malmo FF in Europa League play Thursday at Eleda Stadion, defying heavy pre-match projections.

Substitute Vasilije Kostov scored the decisive goal in the 16th minute, finishing assists from defender Busanello and forward Emmanuel Ekong. The early strike held as the game’s only score despite three second-half yellow cards.

The result marked a successful start to the European campaign for the Serbian side, while the Swedish hosts began with a loss. Statistical models had heavily favored Malmo to win.
