BOLOGNA, Italy (Interstat) — Ten-man Celtic rallied for a 2-2 draw against Bologna FC 1909 in Europa League group stage play Thursday at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

Celtic’s Reo Hatate opened the scoring in the fifth minute but was sent off with a red card in the 34th. Bologna’s Auston Trusty equalized before halftime. Thijs Dallinga put the Italian side ahead in the 58th, but Celtic substitute Jon Rowe secured the draw in the 72nd. Both teams are winless through one match in the competition. The result defied pregame projections that heavily favored Celtic.
