TEL AVIV (Interstat) — MH Maccabi Tel Aviv hosts French side Olympique Lyonnais in a UEFA Europa League group stage match on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025, looking to reverse a difficult run of form.

The Israeli club enters the contest following a 2-0 away loss to Aston Villa on Nov. 6. Their European campaign has been challenging, with additional losses to Midtjylland (3-0) and GNK Dinamo Zagreb (3-1) in October. Their sole point in the group stage came from a 0-0 draw with PAOK on Sept. 24.

Olympique Lyonnais, meanwhile, aims to rebound from its own 2-0 defeat at Real Betis on Nov. 6. That loss snapped a three-game winning streak in the competition for the Ligue 1 club. Lyon previously secured consecutive 2-0 victories over Basel and FC Red Bull Salzburg, and a 1-0 win at FC Utrecht.

The matchup at Bloomfield Stadium pits a struggling Maccabi attack, which has been shut out in three of its last four European outings, against a Lyon defense that has recorded three clean sheets in its four Europa League matches this season.

According to the Interstat game simulator, Lyon is projected to earn a narrow 1-0 victory.

Following this match, Maccabi Tel Aviv travels to face VfB Stuttgart on Dec. 11, while Lyon’s next Europa League fixture is at home against Go Ahead Eagles on the same date.
