LUCENA, Spain (Interstat) — Villarreal CF delivered a stunning 6-0 upset of Ciudad de Lucena on Wednesday in the Copa del Rey Juvenil, defying projections that heavily favored the home side. The match at Estadio Ciudad de Lucena was decided early as substitute Tani Oluwaseyi scored twice in two minutes, finding the net in the 15th and 17th minutes. Oluwaseyi completed a hat trick in the 71st minute. Substitute Ilias Akhomach also scored in the second half. The lopsided result was a surprise after Interstat’s models gave Ciudad de Lucena a 72.9 percent probability to win and projected a 1-1 draw. Villarreal begins its campaign in the Spanish youth tournament with a victory.
