MADRID (Interstat) — Cartagena U19 delivered a significant upset Wednesday, defeating AD San Fermin 1-0 on the road in the Copa del Rey Juvenil. The lone goal was enough to secure the victory at Campo de Futbol Manuel Polinario. The result defied pregame projections that heavily favored the home side. Interstat’s game simulator had predicted a 2-1 win for AD San Fermin, and its ELO system gave the hosts an 82.90 percent probability to win. The match’s only yellow card was issued to Fran Vélez in the 72nd minute. With the win, Cartagena U19 begins its tournament campaign with a victory, while AD San Fermin starts with a loss.
