MODENA, Italy (Interstat) — Monza scored twice in a 15-minute second-half span to erase a deficit and defeat Modena 2-1 on Friday in a Serie B match at Stadio Alberto Braglia.

Modena forward Ettore Gliozzi opened the scoring in the 50th minute. Monza responded with substitute Paulo Dentello equalizing in the 65th before fellow substitute Luca Ravanelli netted the decisive goal minutes later. The comeback defied a pregame projection that forecast a draw.

The match was a physical affair, featuring nine yellow cards. The result gives Monza a winning start to its league campaign, while Modena begins with a loss.
