CESENA, Italy (Interstat) — Cesena defeated Mantova 3-2 in a Serie B match Saturday at Orogel Stadium - Dino Manuzzi.

Mantova substitute Federico Artioli opened the scoring in the 25th minute, but Cesena responded before halftime with a 42nd-minute goal from forward Cristian Shpendi. The home side took the lead in the 54th minute through substitute Alessio Castellini.

Mantova defender Gianluca Frabotta, who also assisted on Artioli’s opener, equalized in the 78th minute. However, Cesena substitute Francesco Ruocco scored the decisive goal minutes later to secure the victory. The result defied a pregame projection from Interstat that favored Cesena heavily but forecast a 1-1 draw.

The match featured three yellow cards, issued to Artioli, Cesena’s Giovanni Zaro and Frabotta. Cesena improved its Serie B record, while Mantova’s struggles continued.
