PANAMA CITY (Interstat) — Panama opened its World Cup qualifying campaign with a commanding 3-0 victory over El Salvador on Tuesday at Estadio Rommel Fernández Gutiérrez. César Blackman gave the hosts the lead in the 17th minute. Substitute Elvis Claros then assisted on a late insurance goal by José Luis Rodríguez in the 85th minute to seal the win. The result exceeded the projection from Interstat, which gave Panama a 90.8 percent chance to win.
