SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica (Interstat) — Costa Rica and Honduras played to a scoreless draw in a World Cup qualifier on Tuesday at Estadio Nacional.

The match, which failed to produce a goal, was a physical affair that featured six yellow cards. Costa Rica’s Manfred Ugalde was sent off with a red card in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time.

The result leaves both nations with identical records in the competition. The match defied a pregame projection from Interstat, which gave Costa Rica a 59.9 percent chance to win and predicted a 1-1 final score.
