GIBRALTAR (Interstat) — Latvia defeated Gibraltar 1-0 on Thursday in a UEFA Nations League match at Europa Point Stadium. Substitute Vladislavs Gutkovskis scored the lone goal in the second half to secure the victory.

The result defied pre-game projections, as statistical models heavily favored Gibraltar. The home side failed to capitalize on its simulated advantage.

Roberts Veips and Daniels Balodis, also substitutes, assisted on Gutkovskis’s decisive goal. The match was a physical affair, with four yellow cards issued. Latvia improved to 1-0-0 in the competition, while Gibraltar fell to 0-1-0.
