Al Ahli Saudi Club vs Shabab Al Ahli

Preview: Al Ahli Saudi Club Hosts Shabab Al Ahli in AFC Champions League Clash

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (Interstat) — A pivotal AFC Champions League group stage match awaits on Monday as Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli Saudi Club hosts the United Arab Emirates’ Shabab Al Ahli at King Abdullah Sports City.

The contest, part of the AFC’s premier continental tournament, features two clubs seeking momentum after being held to scoreless draws in their most recent domestic outings on Feb. 9. Al Ahli Saudi was held 0-0 by Al Wahda FC, while Shabab Al Ahli played to a 0-0 stalemate with regional powerhouse Al Hilal.

Current form, however, shows a contrast. The home side has been potent in attack for much of the season, recording several high-scoring victories. Notable results include a 5-0 thrashing of Al Shorta SC on Dec. 22 and a 4-0 away win at Al Gharafa on Oct. 20. Their record shows resilience, with only one loss in their last eight matches across all competitions.

Shabab Al Ahli’s campaign has been more inconsistent. While they secured a strong 4-1 victory over PFK Nasaf in October and a 2-0 win against Al Gharafa in November, they have also suffered heavy defeats, including a 4-1 loss to Al Duhail and a 4-2 defeat to Al Sadd in December.

The statistical projection service Interstat simulates a tightly contested affair, predicting a 1-1 draw. This would extend Shabab Al Ahli’s current run of draws to two matches and mark Al Ahli Saudi Club’s third draw in its last five games.

For the visitors, this match kicks off a critical period before their domestic schedule resumes in late March with an Arabian Gulf League match against Dibba Al Fujairah. Al Ahli Saudi Club will look to leverage home advantage to secure three vital points in continental play.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT) on Monday, Feb. 16, 2026.
