Johor Darul Ta’zim, Shanghai Haigang Play to Scoreless Draw in AFC Champions League Match
ISKANDAR PUTERI, Johor (Interstat) — Johor Darul Ta’zim FC and Shanghai Haigang FC played to a 0-0 draw in AFC Champions League group stage play Tuesday at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium.
The result left both clubs with identical records in the competition: 0 wins, 0 losses and 1 draw. The match failed to live up to the pregame projection from Interstat, which simulated a 1-1 final score and gave the Malaysian side a 59% probability to win.
Defender Cristian Glauder received the first of five yellow cards issued in the match in the 30th minute. Four substitutes — Shanghai’s Zhang Linpeng, Fu Huan and Yang Shiyuan, and Johor’s Kevin Muscat — were also booked in a physical contest that saw few clear scoring chances.
