ROTTERDAM, Netherlands (Interstat) — Jong Sparta will host De Treffers on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in a Tweede Divisie matchup at Sparta Stadion Het Kasteel, with both teams seeking momentum in the final weeks of the season.

De Treffers (10-5-5 in their last 20 league matches) enter the game on a three-match unbeaten streak after a 0-0 draw at home against Spakenburg on May 9. That result followed a 1-0 win at Koninklijke UD Deventer on April 25 and a 4-1 victory over VV Katwijk on April 18. The visitors have won seven of their last 10 contests, with their only loss in that span coming Dec. 6 against Jong Sparta’s rival — a 2-1 home victory over Jong Sparta in the most recent head-to-head meeting.

De Treffers’ offense has been prolific, scoring 24 goals over their last six matches, including a 6-2 win at ACV on April 11. Their defense has also been solid, recording four clean sheets in the past nine games.

Jong Sparta (5-10-5 in their last 20 league matches) are coming off a 4-0 loss at Twente on May 10, one of three defeats in their last four outings. They were beaten 4-2 at VV Rijnsburgse Boys on May 9 and 3-0 at Almere City on April 18, but rebounded with a 4-1 win at Barendrecht on April 25. The home side has struggled for consistency, alternating wins and losses over the past two months.

In goal-scoring form, Jong Sparta have netted 10 goals in their last five games, but conceded 12 in that same stretch, including three or more in three of those matches.

Saturday’s match is part of the Tweede Divisie, the third tier of Dutch football. A simulator by Interstat projects a 2-1 win for De Treffers.

After Saturday, De Treffers host HSV Hoek on May 23. Jong Sparta face Excelsior at home on May 17, then travel to VV Katwijk on May 23.
